Veneers

We offer a wide range of cosmetic dental treatments to enhance your smile, including teeth whitening, veneers, and smile makeovers.

COMPOSITE VENEERS are a minimally-invasive type of tooth covering made using composite resin. The composite sits on top of your existing teeth, helping to shape the teeth into a more desirable appearance. Composite veneers are ideal for fixing small chips or cracks in the teeth, or enhancing discolored teeth, as you do not need to cover the entire tooth with resin. To get your teeth ready for composite application, only light preparation is needed. Your dentist will then apply an adhesive glue to help the resin stick to your teeth. Once the resin is applied, it will be sculpted into the desired shape, and polished to a high shine finish. They can be done the same day in the dental office.

PORCELAIN and ZIRCONIA VENEERS are essentially tooth-shaped ‘covers’ that go over the entire front surface of the teeth. They are made of porcelain, and have a more invasive preparation than composite veneers. They also need to be sent to the dental laboratory and might take at least days or weeks before it can be delivered.Porcelain veneers are great for those that would like a more permanent solution, as they last longer and are generally more durable and stain-resistant. Porcelain can also look more natural than composite. As porcelain is usually easier on the gumline, we would recommend patients with aesthetic concerns to opt for this treatment.

Crowns

A dental crown is a tooth-shaped, custom-made ‘cap’ that is placed over a tooth, either for protection or cosmetic enhancement. Dental crowns are used to restore a tooth’s shape, size and strength, as well as improving its overall appearance.

If you have a chipped or damaged a tooth, or you just wish to improve the aesthetic appeal of your smile, crowns may be the answer. Dental crowns offer a simple solution for restoring and protecting your teeth while creating a beautiful, natural-looking smile.

Dental crowns are used for many reasons, including:

  • Restoring a chipped, cracked or worn-down tooth

  • Protecting a weak tooth, especially root canal treated teeth

  • Supporting a dental bridge

  • Covering a tooth with a large filling

  • Covering a dental implant

  • Covering misshaped or discoloured teeth

Titanium Implants

Dental implants are the next best thing to healthy, natural teeth. Strong and stable, a dental implant restores a lost tooth so that it looks, feels and functions like a natural tooth.

Dental implants are typically made of titanium, a biocompatible material that is accepted by the body and serves as a strong and sturdy foundation for replacement teeth. Your natural bone locks the implant into place by fusing, or attaching itself, to the implant. This process, known as osseointegration, gives teeth replaced using implants the stability and strength to support replacement teeth.

Dental implant surgery is one of the safest and most predictable procedures in dentistry when performed by a trained and experienced implant dentist.

Because dental implants require one or more surgical procedures, you must have a thorough evaluation to prepare for the process, including a:

  • Comprehensive dental exam. You will need to have dental X-rays taken and models made of your teeth.

  • Treatment plan. Tailored to your situation, this plan takes into account factors such as how many teeth you need to have replaced and your individual needs and expectations.

Dental implant surgery is usually performed in stages:

  • The damaged tooth is removed

  • Your jawbone is prepared for surgery, a process that may or may not involve bone grafting

  • After your jawbone heals, your implant dentist places the dental implant

  • You go through a healing period that may last several months

  • After the healing phase, your dentist will make a replacement tooth that will attach to the implant

The entire process can take several months from start to finish. Much of that time is devoted to healing and waiting for the growth of new bone in your jaw.

Bridges

Dental bridges literally bridge the gap created by one or more missing teeth. Although the cosmetic effect of missing teeth is often of concern, the greater issue is the ability to chew food, maintain healthy gums and when teeth surrounding the gap start to drift.

Dental bridges provide the solution. A dental bridge is a procedure that uses a crown, also known as a ‘pontic’ and fuses it between two porcelain crowns to fill the empty space. The crowns holding the pontic’s in place are attached to the teeth either side of the gap, replacing the missing tooth/teeth and giving you back a smile with no gaps.

Bridges can:

  • Restore your smile

  • Restore the ability to properly chew and speak

  • Maintain the shape of your face

  • Distribute the forces in your bite properly by replacing missing teeth

  • Prevent remaining teeth from drifting out of position

Our technicians are highly skilled in cosmetic dentistry and are able to create the illusion that the missing tooth emerges from the gum just like a natural tooth to ensure no one will know that you ever had a tooth missing.
